A STONE HOUSE TRANSFORMED INTO A « GLASS HOUSE » IN MONS - FRANCE

France
Mons
Individual dwellings
In the heart of the village of Mons, at the tip of a rocky spur, this house offers visitors an unexpected experience of weightlessness. The idea is to magnify its large stone volume open to the clouds. Glass floors have been implemented between eachfloor creating unique sensations and unseen perspectives.
Each level is a way to rise in this unusual place; from the ground floor, "contemplation room", to the "water room" on the second floor, to the "heavenly room". A chimney with three fireplaces, an immense cupboard suspended in the void, a sculptural staircase crosses the different crystalline layers with multiple and changing re flections.
The proximity of the mountains and the Mediterranean, the closeness of the infinite and the sun, give the inhabitants the dreamlike sensation of living in the sky.
