As for the Japanese pavilion, wooden suspended slats remind of the traditional "koshis" . "koshis" are screens arranged with openings in the front to let filter daylights and also providing for discrete views. They transmit purity while the sensation of a certain mystery. They make for a protected surrounding without separations but rather mysterious walls of profound lights and shadows that would suposely let one unveil hidden secrets. Under that fragile envelope, they invite the intimacy between the visitors and the literary culture of Japan as if a golden cloud watching over the book fair (Salon du Livre).
