ARCHITECTURE AND BIOMIMETISM: FABRE MUSEUM IN TOKYO - JAPAN

Facilities and activities
Right in the heart of Tokyo, The Henri Fabre foundation created a facility for the study and exhibition of insects. The structure is situated on a narrow piece of land and alludes to the subtle image of a beetle’s head through an illusionary design. The building’s ingenious exterior composed of metallic materials, clearly reflects the morphology of the large insect world. It could well be the head of a grasshopper or a praying mantis watching over the city. The colours of the building in the evening give the image of a glow worm.
